Account Executive
AE Ventures is seeking a highly motivated, outgoing candidate to join their team in an Account Executive role. This position will be responsible for selling tradeshow booths and sponsorships for AE Venture’s annual Electronic Security Expo and other conferences. All prospects must be hard-working, energetic, persistent and personable, enjoying contacting customers by phone to develop relationships.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Prospect and sell exhibit space and sponsorships
- Develop and maintain exhibit prospect database. Sources include: competitive show databases, card collection at competitive events, magazine advertisers, and exhibitor and attendee referrals.
- Work to establish telephone and face-to-face appointments with prospects.
- Leverage appointments to:
- qualify prospects for participation in event
- learn their applicable sales, marketing and business development goals, strategies and tactics
- align prospect needs with event deliverables and specific strategies for exhibiting and sponsorship
- present proposals for exhibiting and sponsorship
- uncover and negotiate objections to participation
- close sales
- Track all sales activities within contact management system for methodical follow-up and management review.
- Manage renewal business
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of priority space selection materials.
- Contribute to on-site priority space selection and other sales efforts to customer base at events
- Aggressive follow up with non-renewed companies.
- Work with event team to create successful events.
- Communicate effectively with finance on billing and collection matters.
- Work with operations, conference and marketing staff on customer service, customer information needs for promotions and publications, sales promotions, etc.
- Provide suggestion on event strategy, positioning, features, etc. that will boost sales and customer satisfaction.
- Assist on special projects as necessary.
Qualifications
- Prior sales experience
- Strong face-to-face and telephone presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service ethic and practices.
- Positive, self-starting, team player.
- College degree
- Travel required
Sales and Operations Assistant
AE Ventures is seeking an outgoing, persuasive Sales and Operations Assistant to join its exciting business. This role will be involved with the sales and operations for AE Ventures’ tradeshow and conferences. The Assistant will work closely with the event sales and operations teams, providing administrative support and customer service. The ideal candidate will enjoy contacting customers and prospective customers via telephone and display strong organizational skills. This dynamic role requires an outgoing personality and the ability to develop a rapport with clients over the phone. The Sales and Operations Assistant will also provide event planning assistance to exhibitors and sponsors.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist company’s sales team in managing, updating and maintaining prospect lists in Salesforce
- Organize and distribute daily email communications to prospective customers
- Make proactive calls to current and past clients to assist the sales team in moving them through the sales cycle including: setting up sales presentation appointments, developing customized proposals; completing contracts and following up to obtain signed agreements
- Make outbound calls to existing customers for small-ticket sales and registrations
- Assist with administrative projects including mailings, database maintenance, etc.
- Develop exhibitor and sponsor communications
- Provide exhibitor services for events pre-show and on-site
- Assist sponsors with logistical support and follow-up
- Manage on-site operations of sponsorships
- Travel as needed (10-15%) to events and industry trade shows, etc
